Fly on the wall

Fly on the wall, 2014, tablecloths

Around a table – whether it be a dining table, desk or coffee –  sharing occurs, through eating, drinking or simply having a chat. The household object of the table is a hub of conversation. As each conversation passes through the space, and people leave, the table and all its accessories absorb the conversations in an invisible archiving of personal histories.

These table cloths or ie laulau were sourced locally within the heart of Avondale. Take a ie laulau to your living space and let it be the social archive of your personal histories.
